This four day course meets the necessary criteria for those wishing to apply for the SIA Door Supervisor License. It can be delivered to you as a delegate at our training facility or, for those companies which are required to train a number of staff, we can deliver it in-house, thus offering a more cost effective solution. The course is delivered in two parts; part one (2 days) providing the underpinning knowledge required of the Door Supervisor whilst the part two training (2 days) includes conflict management and communication, which have been identified as important skills needed by the industry. Part One: (Knowledge based training and assessment) Course Content The course contains modules covering the following topics: • Roles and Responsibilities • Behavioural Standards • Equal Opportunities • Civil and Criminal Law • Arrest • Licensing Law • Searching • Health and Safety at Work • Drugs Awareness • Recording Incidents and Crime Scene Preservation • Emergency Procedures Part Two: (Practical scenario based training and assessment) Course Content The course covers a variety of topics which are delivered with maximum class interaction. It culminates with several practical scenario sessions. • Understanding the importance of customer care • Communication skills • Verbal and non-verbal communication • Calming difficult situations and avoiding violence • Identifying different types of behaviour • Understanding what risks occur during violence at work • Common conflict flash-points • Managing aggression • Problem-solving skills • Reflecting and learning from the experience of conflict Course Outcomes: At the end of this course and on successful completion of the 2 part exam candidates will have achieved the required level of knowledge and understanding in the areas listed in the modules above. On receipt of their course certificate candidates will be able to apply for the SIA Door Supervisors License.
